Where do Rhone varieties come from?

The Rhône wine region in Southern France is situated in the Rhône river valley and produces numerous wines under various Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) designations. The region's major appellation in production volume is Côtes du Rhône AOC.
The Rhône is generally divided into two sub-regions with distinct viticultural traditions, the Northern Rhône and the Southern Rhône. The northern sub-region produces red wines from the
Syrah grape and white wines from Viognier grapes.

Bobby's Pick of The Week!

Drum roll please! The pick of the week is going to our SJC Sauvignon Blanc! Produced from grapes from the Duarte Family Vineyards in San Joaquin County, our 2006 Sauvignon Blanc is light in body and crisp in style. Its abundant melon, lime, and lemon-grass aromas coupled with a slight edge of minerality and culminate in a lingering finish. Served slightly chilled, this wine pairs well with light hors d'oeuvres and light seafood dishes. In 2008 at the Florida State Fair Wine Competition, this wine won a Bronze Medal!
